The Mechanical Engineer will play a pivotal role in optimizing product and machine design and maintaining the machinery and processes while providing technical support in the development of new products for production. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance production efficiency, ensure product quality, and drive innovation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Product and Machine Design and Optimization:
ØOptimize machinery and related equipment to meet production requirements and enhance operational efficiency.
ØConduct feasibility studies, simulations, and prototype testing to evaluate new machine designs and improvements.
ØOptimize material usage and resource allocation to minimize costs while maintaining product quality and production efficiency.
ØResearch new products and equipment.
ØGenerate equipment drawings using design software.
ØConduct and coordinate trial tests – document results.
ØCreate equipment floor layout plans to help optimize floor space, equipment layout etc.
Equipment Fabrication & Assembly
ØAssist with design, machining, and assembly of equipment.
ØCollaborate with suppliers to source high-quality materials and components for equipment.
Technical Support
ØProvide engineering support through analysis by troubleshooting mechanical issues, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions to minimize downtime and maximize uptime.
ØImprove current processes by introducing new technology.
ØBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
ØProven experience in mechanical engineering roles, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
ØStrong knowledge of mechanical design principles, machine dynamics, and materials science.
ØProficiency in CAD software for design and simulation (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.)
ØExperience with process optimization, lean manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement methodologies.
ØProject management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams.
